Olivia Rodrigo, star of Disney's High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, has dropped her latest single titled 'Deja Vu' and announced her debut album.

Rodrigo saw unprecedented success with her debut single 'Drivers License', which debuted at number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and has since spent 8 weeks in the top spot. The song recently surpassed 500 million streams on Spotify and breaks the record as the fastest solo song to do so, in just 62 days. This left some wondering how she'd fare, whether she'd be a one-hit-wonder or become everyone's new favourite pop princess.

Rodrigo announced the new single on her Instagram saying: "It's not an April Fools joke lol."

This latest song in Rodrigo's discography centres on a lost love and the new girl he's being utterly unoriginal with. Referencing Billy Joel and even everyone's favourite cringe-fest Glee, she explores how her ex's new girlfriend is a carbon copy of herself in the same relationship. Wearing the same clothes, singing the same music, eating the same ice cream. The music video itself makes us long for the time when we can soak up the sun and dress in our best summer styles like Rodrigo.

'Deja Vu' uses the same storytelling technique that we've become so familiar with and continue to love in songs from the likes of Rodrigo's beloved Taylor Swift. We're sure we'll be screaming the lyrics of 'Deja Vu' this summer just like we did with some of Swift's best releases.

As for her debut album, Rodrigo teased: "I'm putting out a project later this year that I'm working on right now. I'm super stoked for that. I don't have a ton of concrete plans, but I love making art and making music and I'm hopefully going to be doing that for the rest of my life. This year is going to be no exception to that."

We can't wait!
